Peach moonstone is made of potassium-rich pink orthoclase feldspar and the sodium-based feldspar albite. Forced above ground by magma flows, as these minerals cooled they formed very thin distinct layers within the stone. When light shines through these layers at different angles, it creates a silvery-white sheen called adularescence.
